Mind in the Vale Counselling Service
Mind in the Vale provides professional, ethical, and low-cost counselling for adults aged 18 and over. All of our counsellors are volunteers, giving their time and skills to support our service. As a self-funded, not-for-profit service, we focus on providing high-quality support that is accessible, compassionate, and tailored to your needs.
We offer counselling online, by phone, and face-to-face, so you can choose the way that feels most comfortable.
Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and begin to make sense of whatever you may be experiencing.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is a structured talking therapy that helps you explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences with a trained professional. It can help you:
- Gain clarity and perspective
- Understand patterns or difficulties
- Develop healthier coping strategies
- Build resilience and emotional wellbeing
Counselling is led by you. Your counsellor works alongside you at your pace, supporting you to move forward in a way that feels right.
Our Team & Standards
All of our counsellors are volunteers committed to providing professional, ethical counselling. All are registered with, or working towards registration with, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow its Ethical Framework.
Our team includes:
- Qualified counsellors (Level 4 and above)
- Student counsellors in the final stages of accredited training
Every counsellor receives regular clinical supervision from registered professionals, ensuring safe, ethical, and reflective practice.
As a Mind service, we are committed to professionalism, confidentiality, safeguarding, and continuous improvement.
