Family business ‘Pughs’ support their local Minds

Pughs Garden Village in Wenvoe gave the Tour de France a run for it’s money during world wellbeing week recently. The dedicated and energetic staff team took on the day long cycling challenge and collectively cycled 385.5 miles over two days in their Wenvoe and Radyr sites (also supporting neighbouring Cardiff Mind.)

They completed 15 minute slots from 8:30 until close of business with many of the staff members taking a second slot. The store also put together a raffle with a series of exclusive prizes to bump up the fundraising total.

Vikki Pugh who worked hard to organise the events across the Pughs Garden Village sites said, ‘We think it’s a great opportunity for us to get involved in something active which we all know is good for our health & wellbeing whilst also raising money to support an amazing local Charity.’

Staff and customers alike were delighted to meet Wales rugby legend, Shane Williams MBE, who came along to the Wenvoe store to encourage and motivate the cyclists and hear about the work that Mind in the Vale do in the community.

The final sum raised was an fantastic £614.31! Huge thanks for the kind donations and to the wonderful staff team at Pughs Garden Village, Wenvoe for organising and taking on the challenge.
