We are Pughs Garden Centre and we are excited to be raising money for one of our local chosen charities Mind in the Vale by getting the Pughs team involved in completing an active challenge. We have pledged to cycle 117 miles on 27th June (Radyr garden centre ) and 117 miles on 28th June (Wenvoe garden centre) between all our staff members.
We think its a great opportunity for us to get involved in something active which we all know is good for our health & wellbeing however, more importantly hoping that we can raise money to support an amazing Charity.
Why 117 Miles I hear you ask….? Our local Mind charity has approximately 117 people per month getting in touch to access support. This doesn’t include referrals they get from GPs or The Vale Locality Team to do guided self-help programmes, this is just self referrals through the reception.
Each mile cycled represents one self referral and we think it is so important to support this charity where the money will be used on the front line. A big thanks to The Village Hotel who have kindly agreed to lend us an indoor exercise bike to enable us to complete our challenge.
