You will initially be offered a full assessment which will highlight the areas you need help and support with, this may include making referrals to other specialist services where appropriate. For example: counselling, housing, debt, benefits, employment, etc.
We can offer you face-to-face appointments (at our accessible locations listed below), telephonic, or online – whatever suits you.

Mind in the Vale offers face to face peer support in accessible locations around the Vale.
These relaxed peer support sessions give the opportunity to chat and meet other like minded people, offer a variety of fun activities and the occasional guest speaker.
These sessions are for anyone who is struggling with their mental health, feeling isolated and would like to build confidence to access mainstream courses.
Our peer support sessions are currently taking place in:
Penarth
When: Tuesdays 10am – 2.30pm and Thursdays 10am – 3pm
Where: Penarth Methodist Church, Woodland Place Corner of, Stanwell Rd, Penarth CF64 2EX

Western Vale
When: Wednesday 1pm – 3pm

Our Guided Self Help is one to one and will help you identify and manage the issues that are impacting on your mental health. This works over a period of 6 – 8 weeks. This service is available face to face in GP practices or in one of our offices across the Vale. We can also provide the service telephonically or virtually via online platforms. If you are looking for advice on future employment or education opportunities, we work in partnership with and signpost to a range of employment and education providers, including Careers Wales, Cardiff and Vale College, Get Back on Track and more.
We offer volunteering opportunities such as: peer support, retail experience in our shops, administration and governance. We also work in partnership with GVS to access volunteering in the local area.
We offer outreach for people who really need help or support in their own homes. This will be established in your initial assessment.
Mind in the Vale doesn’t provide formal advocacy, however we can make a referral for you or talk to an expert. If you need help please visit Advocacy Support Cymru.
