Mind In The Vale Of Glamorgan
Last Friday, we were delighted to join forces with local walking charity Valeways for a guided walk around The Knap, Barry. An amazing 40 walkers took part who were a mixture of regulars and first time walkers. It was great to chat to the fantastic volunteers and walkers who enjoy walking for many different reasons: health, enjoying nature and of course the connection and friendships that walking with a group brings. The walk was organised as part of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek but don't forget Mind in the Vale continues to offer support to anyone who is feeling isolated and lonely all year round, please visit www.mindinthevale.org.uk if you need to access support or advice. Thank you to the wonderful walk leaders Mike, Paul, Oggy, Rebecca, official photgrapher Owen and members of Valeways for making us feel so welcome and providing walking opportunities across the Vale. If you'd like to join Valeways for one of their guided walks, give their page a follow or you can find their walking programme at www.valeways.org.uk.Photo credits: Owen Leach ... See MoreSee Less

The Royal Family works tirelessly for mental health and we are so delighted that here in the Vale of Glamorgan we have our very own ‘Queen B’. Jodie Tanner owner of The Queen B Boutique, who has boutiques in Barry and Penarth, has chosen Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan as their charity of the year 2021-2022.

They have raised an amazing £4,000 for Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan, which is an independent charity that provides practical and emotional support for people who experience mental health problems who live in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Jodie wants to thank her wonderful customers who have purchased the Queen B VIP discount and loyalty cards as this money always gets donated to a chosen charity. “We are overjoyed to have raised an impressive £4,000 for Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan”.

The Queen B Boutique has been running this VIP Scheme for many years and donated many thousands of pounds to local Charities to support the outstanding work that they do.

Caroline Chapman is extremely grateful that a local business has taken so much time and effort to raise money and mental health awareness for Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and what an amazing way to celebrate! Thank you, Queen B, her loyal customers, and staff – we are so grateful for this wonderful act of kindness which will make a huge difference to a local mental health charity. Special thanks to AskFrank for the fabulous cheque!

These sessions are for anyone who is struggling with their mental health, feeling isolated and would like to build confidence to access mainstream courses.
