Jon Venners, Club Secretary said, “We all know someone who has been affected by suicide. Encouraging men to talk about this and seek help and support is only going to be of benefit within our communities".

When restrictions allow, Mind in the Vale will be going along to community sporting events to share information. The campaign will focus on working in partnership with rugby, football and golf clubs, gyms and barbers.

Barry RFC have signed up to the Suicide prevention training and mental health awareness training on offer and will be displaying the campaign posters and beer mats in the club house when open again so that anyone who is experiencing suicidal feelings knows where to access support.

If you see our #ItTakesBallsToTalk campaign van driving around the Vale - be sure to give us a wave! Huge thanks to Ask Frank for the van art work.

Austin has recently raised an incredible ⭐️£4108 (that’s right £4108!) by taking part in the grueling 4x4x48 David Goggins challenge which saw people all over the world getting involved by running 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours - even throughout the night!

Austin was keen to support his local Mental health charity, Mind in the Vale during this challenge following his own difficulties with his mental health and is a strong advocate for getting involved in exercise to improve and help manage mental health.

We'd like to say a gigantic thank you to Austin for his amazing work completing the challenge, raising funds and also creating awareness. Thanks also to the businesses and individuals who kindly donated 🙏

In response to this, Carers Wales has developed a new card for you.
