We aim to offer a variety of volunteering opportunities for both those who access our service but also those who don’t.

Our Project Volunteers are offered the opportunity to receive accreditation from Cardiff and the Vale colleges in

  • Hospitality
  • Customer Service
  • Cleaning

If you are currently accessing the services of Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan and are interested in volunteering, please see a member of staff to discuss your options.

External Volunteers

If you would like to gain experience in mental health, signposting, confidentiality and boundaries, conflict resolution, working in a person centred holistic approach, using the recovery star and you have some spare time to offer, can commit to working with us for at least 6 months and have a non judgemental and solution focused attitude:-

 Volunteering at Travellers in Mind Cafe and Gallery

At Travellers, anyone recovering from mental health problems can re-adjust to a working environment, gain confidence and self esteem, use their existing skills and develop new ones.

Travellers in Mind is a supported work experience project based in the cafe at Barry Railway Station offering training and experience in:-

  • Catering skills
  • Handling money
  • Serving customers
  • Outside catering
  • Volunteer driving
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
  • Working in line with legislation
  • Team work

All volunteers have the opportunity to receive accreditation from Cardiff & Vale College and receive training in line with current legislation.

 Volunteering at the Mind Shop

**The Mind shops in Barry and Llantwit Major are currently recruiting volunteers! We’d love to hear from you. Please download our application form 26b Volunteering Application Form or contact 01446730792 for more information**

The Mind shops in Barry (Main Street) and Llantwit Major (Co-op car park) are an invaluable source of unrestricted income and a great place to volunteer. The shop is run entirely by volunteers.

  • Organisation and presentation
  • Team work
  • Marketing and communication
